Carlton great replaces premiership teammate on Blues board

Carlton premiership player Andrew McKay has joined the club’s board.

McKay, a four-time All-Australian, Blues captain and long-time head of football, has been appointed as a director responsible for footy governance.

McKay replaces his 1995 premiership teammate Greg Williams, who is stepping down after five years on the Blues board.

Williams will stay involved at the club, however. The revered Carlton icon will continue to explore his passion via his work with the Blues’ Academy and stakeholder engagement and is an immensely popular figure around Ikon Park.

McKay’s ascension to the club board comes as his two daughters, Abbie and Sophie, play for the Blues’ AFLW team.

Co vice-president Patty Kinnersly will continue to oversee Carlton’s AFLW and VFLW programs.
