An emotional Lindsay Collins has told SEN League how much this premiership win means to him.
The Roosters’ forward on Sunday won his first NRL premiership, having helped Sydney win 19-18 over the Newcastle Knights after missing out on the club’s premierships back in 2018 and 2019.
Playing for 43 minutes, the prop amassed 79 run metres from eight runs with three tackle breaks and only one missed tackle from 26 made.
Reflecting on the result, the 30-year-old admitted that it felt like a dream.
“Oh, it just feels like a dream,” a teary Collins told SEN League
“F--k, I can't believe it, man, it's been a long journey, and it's so unbelievable to be here right now.”
Throughout his 10 seasons in the NRL, Collins has only ever played for the Tricolours with the Queensland and Australian representative grateful to help give back to the club that made him the man he is today.
“This club has given me everything. I don't know where I'd be without this club, honestly,” he said.
“It's not only made me a good football player, but the man I am today. I'm so grateful I'm here, so grateful I came down here as a young kid; this club's given me everything, and I just wanna give it premierships.
“I just wanna succeed, I just wanna win.”
Collins will look to run it back with the Roosters in 2027 as they look to emulate their feats from 2018 and 2019.
