Kevin Walters has officially named his 23-man squad for the Rugby League World Cup with the former Broncos coach selecting six debutants.

Having completed a series whitewash in last year's Rugby League Ashes, the 58-year-old will look to go out as a World Champion coach with the Kangaroos.

The six debutants include Bradman Best, Jack Bostock, Blayke Brailey, David Fifita, Sam Walker and Jacob Preston.

Having just won the premiership on Sunday night, the Sydney Roosters have three players selected.

But South Sydney have claim to having the most players in the squad, with four (David Fifita, Keaon Koloamatangi, Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray).

Outside of the 23 players named, Thomas Jenkins, Hamish Stewart and Ethan Strange have been named as the reserves.

The Rugby League World Cup gets underway on October 15 when Australia takes on New Zealand at Allianz Stadium.

SEN will have live coverage of the tournament across our radio network.
