Sheza Alibi is looking to win her fourth Group 1 this Saturday in the Group 1 Might and Power over 2000m at Caulfield.

The superstar filly’s trainer Peter Moody joined Gareth Hall on Giddy Up this morning to discuss the mares’ preparation.

The trainer exclaimed that he holds plenty of excitement to see the star progress to 2000m for the first time in her career.

“She seems in a real good spot, a happy healthy girl,” he said.

“All the markers and everything are sort of positive about her going there.

“Two runs at a mile, she has been very strong through the line once in the Doncaster and then in the Makybe Diva.

“So, you’d be a brave man to suggest she’s not going to handle it.

“But we still need to see her go there and do it.”

Hall queried Moody on the jump from a mile to 2000m to then bring her back to the 1500m for the $10 million Golden Eagle.

“Well, you don’t train her, that’s the beautiful thing about it, she trains herself,” Moody said.

“So that takes the opportunity for me to make mistakes out of the caper.”

On topic with Light Infantry Man’s performance setting the pace in the Turnbull Stakes, Moody spoke to whether any of the horses turning up the pace this Saturday would shake things up.

“A Pride Of Jenni scenario or a Light Infantry Man scenario you probably would not want to see play out,” he said.

“But a six-horse field, even tempo, everything will get its chance.”

Although its unconventional to jump to 2000m with a 1500m race solidified as the mares grand final, Moody believes it is the best direction for her preparation.

“You are probably not going to do much more work there than you are in a more pressured Toorak Handicap, or certainly a King Charles,” he said.

“I thought it was probably nearly the softest lead in outside of having a barrier trial.

“I think we have struck the right chord to this point… it gives her a chance to bounce back in the 21 days.”

Sheza Alibi is a short priced $1.35 in the Group 1 Might and Power this Saturday at Caulfield with Sportsbet.

Bridal Waltz

The five-year-old mare returns to the track after a disappointing first up run where she ran second as a short price favourite at Caulfield in the Group 3 How Now Stakes.

Unravelled by a fast-finishing Point Barrow, Bridal Waltz will once again face off with the talented mare.

“Great respect to the filly that beat it the other day Point Barrow, she is a very good filly,” Moody said.

“I was a little critical of Ben (Melham) the other day, I thought he probably should have made a bit more of it in the early stages of the straight.

“He felt she wasn’t stretching over the firm track, so I’ve got to respect that… but she has come out of it well.

“She looks very well placed again… with a weight relief.

“She doesn’t have to lead, but she puts herself in the first two or three regardless.

“Hopefully she gives Luke (Nolen) a feel where she can lengthen a bit more… and she could hold off the other one (Point Barrow).

“They are two good mares, and it’ll be an interesting clash once again.”

Bridal Waltz is quoted at $2.70 in the Group 3 Northwood Plume Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.

Stable Mail Play:

On SENTrack and RSN’s Stable Mail, Moody opted to put his $100 on the double of Caulfield Race 5 Bridal Waltz into Caulfield Race 7 Sheza Alibi at a price of $3.64.
