Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez remains in hospital after suffering a sickening head injury in his side's 2-0 Premier League win over Everton.
Facing a free kick from Everton's left wing, the 32-year-old came off his line to clear the floated ball into the box.
Despite getting a fist to the ball, Martinez was met by the awaiting wall of offensive players, colliding with two Toffees before clashing heads with defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
The head clash saw the World Cup winning Argentinian hit the ground hard, unable to get up before being met by several medical staff.
After extended treatment from paramedics, Martinez was safely removed from the pitch, placing him on a stretcher with an oxygen mask attached and taking him directly to hospital.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso provided this update post-match.
"As far as I know, he left the stadium conscious and right now he is in the hospital doing precautionary tests," said Alonso.
"So let’s see, but that’s what I know so far. We need to wait. Hopefully it won’t be too bad, but we need to wait at the moment.
"It was a concussion, but more than that. I saw just one clip, but we'll have to wait."
Martinez was replaced by 21-year-old backup keeper Mike Penders, helping Chelsea secure their first league clean sheet in 23 games.
Latest reports claim that Martinez is okay, with reports suggesting the Argentinian suffered a severe jaw injury. He remains in hospital and is undergoing a range of tests.
