Frankston VFL talent Jackson Voss has earned another opportunity at AFL level, set to compete for a train-on spot with Hawthorn.
Son of former AFL player Brett, 25-year-old Voss has remained in contention for an AFL call-up for a number of years, having dominated at the lower level over his time at Frankston.
The left-footed back flanker was credited with the best and fairest award at Frankston in 2026 after a stellar season, earning a spot in the VFL Team of the Season with 26 disposals and six marks per game.
Clearly a top talent, Voss was heavily considered in last year's draft and the 2026 mid-season draft, before being overlooked and remaining at Frankston for the remainder of the season.
Approaching last year's National Draft, guru Mick Ablett covered Voss' exceptional talent.
“The first one that I want to mention, and a really good friend of mine who has been around the VFL competition for a long time in Paul Amy – I respect his opinion really highly when it comes to VFL prospects. He has a big wrap on Jackson Voss out of the Frankston footy club,” Ablett told SEN's The Captain's Run.
“He is a left footer, a powerful unit, kicks the footy unbelievably will. Thumping kick gets the ball to its target quickly, and the way the game is being played now, and the damage that these counterattacking running half backs are doing, he fits the bill perfectly for AFL football at the moment.
“He is the son of Brett Voss, the former St Kilda champ. Overlooked by the Saints as a father-son. I think this kid has a huge upside, a lot to like about him.”
Hawthorn are set to hand Voss a trial at the club as he looks to earn his spot at the top level.
