Three tries in four minutes was not enough to help the Broncos secure an inspired victory in the World Club Challenge against Hull KR.

The Broncos could not handle the early pressure from the English outfit who claimed a 30-24 win and their third consecutive WCC title.

Moreover, the wins secured Hull a quadruple Crown having secured the Super League title, League Leaders, Challenge Cup in 2025.

It was all one-way traffic as Hull led 30-4 with 20 minutes left on the clock before the broncos mounted their comeback.

Had Adam Reynolds converted his kicks, Brisbane would have come even closer to closing the gap.

While the Broncos couldn't match their opponents, it was Ezra Mam that stole the headlines for the wrong reasons after being caught on camera performing "a sexual gesture" towards the crowd with his left hand after Gehamat Shibasaki has crossed the line int the 60th minute.

"We spoke at half-time that they were going to have a say in that game," Hull KR captain Elliot Minchella said afterwards.

"They tested us, we just got it done by any means necessary, it wasn't pretty.

"There was talk about lots of technical stuff that we didn't do so well but we scrambled for each other, we had grit.

"We were tested at times but we got over the line.

"We thought we were in a good position but these are a good team, if you think that for one moment that we already won then they burn you. They had a 20-25 minute period where they were on top but we stuck together and got over the line.

"You're starting the year thinking about last year, but we're so pleased. We spoke about the grit we had last year and all the tough defensive performances we had last year, that helped us tonight.

"It wasn't great but thankfully we came away on the right side of the score."
