The Sydney Sirens will call the iconic Quaycentre at Sydney Olympic Park their primary home venue for the 2027 Super Netball season, bringing fans closer to the action as the club embarks on an exciting new chapter.
The Sirens will host five home games at the Quaycentre, a venue steeped in NSW netball history, with its intimate setting providing the perfect backdrop for the club's vision of delivering an exciting, family-friendly match day experience.
The move will see elite netball return to one of the sport's most recognisable venues in NSW, with the Sirens looking to create a vibrant home court atmosphere that brings together world-class netball, entertainment and an engaged fan base.
CEO of SEN Teams – which holds the Sirens license - Richard Simkiss, said the Quaycentre was an ideal fit for the Sirens as the club establishes its identity in Sydney.
"The Quaycentre has such a rich history in NSW netball, and we're incredibly excited to make it the primary home of the Sydney Sirens," Simkiss said.
"One of the great things about the venue is that there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Fans will be right on top of the action, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes live netball so special.
"We want our match days to be about more than just the netball. We're focused on creating a fantastic experience for families and fans of all ages, and the Quaycentre gives us a great opportunity to bring that vision to life."
Sirens Head Coach, Nerida Stewart, said the return to the Quaycentre held special significance for her personally.
"The Quaycentre is a really special place for me. I played there during my career, including my final game for the Swifts, so there is a lot of nostalgia attached to that venue," Stewart said.
"I remember playing in front of a packed house there and the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. When it's full, the energy in there is something else.
"To now have the opportunity to return as Head Coach of the Sydney Sirens in their inaugural season and help create those same memories for a new generation of players and fans is really exciting."
While the Quaycentre will serve as the club's primary home, the Sirens will also return to Ken Rosewall Arena for a blockbuster Sydney Derby against the NSW Swifts, with the clash set to ignite a new cross-town rivalry and provide maximum capacity for fans of both clubs.
The club will take its remaining home game to regional NSW, with discussions underway to bring Super Netball action to fans beyond Sydney.
Simkiss said both initiatives reflected the Sirens' ambition to build a strong and passionate supporter base across the state.
"We're really looking forward to returning to Ken Rosewall Arena for what promises to be a fantastic occasion against the Swifts. There's an exciting new rivalry developing between the two Sydney clubs, and we want to see a big crowd there to be part of it.
"We're equally passionate about growing the Sirens' presence right across NSW, which is why we're exploring the opportunity to take a home game to a regional community.
"There's an enormous appetite for netball throughout the state, and we want the Sirens to be a club that all of NSW can get behind. We look forward to sharing more exciting news on that front in the coming weeks."
The full 2027 Super Netball fixture will be unveiled tomorrow, Tuesday 20 October.
