Jacob Weitering’s manager Liam Pickering says the Carlton youngster is ready to go, after starring in the VFL over the last few weeks.

Weitering has averaged 22.3 disposals and 10.7 marks for the Northern Blues in the last three games, making Pickering believe a senior return isn’t too far away.

“I think he is fine and ready to go,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“He came back, he got injured, missed a couple weeks.

“He came back, first game back he had 28 disposals and 17 marks. Then the next week he had (five) marks and 20-odd touches, then last week he was in the best three or four again.

“I’m assuming he will play this week.”

Pickering did explain how he reassured his client that playing in the VFL isn’t a negative.

“What I said to Weitering the other night, I said welcome to my world man,” he said.

“It’s not all about just walking in as the number one draft pick and playing every week.

“He has got his confidence back. He is a good kid and his attitude is first class. There will be no issues with him.

“He hasn’t dropped his bundle.”
