Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has continued its strong momentum in Australia's podcast market, recording a record 940,000 monthly unique podcast listeners across its portfolio during August while placing 18 titles inside Australia's Top 300 Podcasts in the latest Australian Podcast Ranker results.
The August result represents the highest monthly podcast audience ever recorded across SEN's network, surpassing the previous record of 901,000 monthly unique listeners set in September 2025 and continuing significant growth from the previous calendar-year high of 780,000 listeners recorded in September 2024.
SEN also generated more than four million podcast downloads during the month, marking the first time since April that the network has surpassed the four million-download milestone and further reinforcing SEN's position as Australia's leading sports audio network.
Headlining the results again was SEN Breakfast, which reclaimed its position as Australia's number one sports radio podcast, number one breakfast radio podcast and number one sports podcast in the rankings,
SEN Breakfast - which features Fireball with Kane and Kingy (with Kane Cornes and David King) on Mondays and Fridays, and Breakfast with Garry & Tim (with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson) from Tuesday to Thursday – recorded 427,396 listeners and 1,274,867 downloads for the month of August, and ranked at number 7 in the overall standings.
The latest Ranker also saw AFL Nation make its debut inside the Australian-made Top 300 Podcast Ranker, while Crunch Time delivered the biggest ranking improvement across SEN's portfolio, climbing 41 places from the previous survey.
SEN's national footprint was again reflected across the rankings, with 12 Melbourne-produced programs, four New South Wales-produced programs and two Western Australia-produced programs featuring inside the Top 300. SEN WA’s offerings remain the only dedicated radio show podcasts from Western Australia to feature in the rankings, while Giddy Up with Gareth Hall retained its position as Australia's leading and only dedicated racing podcast to make the Top 300.
The latest Ranker results comes as SEN prepares for one of the busiest sporting periods of the year, with comprehensive coverage planned across the AFL and NRL Finals Series, the Spring Racing and Melbourne Cup Carnivals, and the Rugby League World Cup, providing audiences with more premium live and on-demand content than ever before.
SEN Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said the latest results highlighted the strength of SEN's content strategy and the network's ability to connect with sports fans across Australia.
"Reaching a record 940,000 monthly unique podcast listeners is a tremendous result and a reflection of the strength of SEN's content offering and the connection our talent has with sports fans right around the country," Hutchison said.
"To achieve that audience while also surpassing four million podcast downloads and placing 18 shows inside Australia's Top 300 is a fantastic endorsement of the breadth and quality of our network.
"It's particularly pleasing to see SEN Breakfast reclaim its position as the number one sports radio and breakfast podcast in the country, while AFL Nation has made its debut in the rankings and Crunch Time recorded one of the strongest growth stories of the month.
"Our audience continues to engage with us across live radio, podcasting, streaming, social and digital platforms, and these results reinforce the value of having trusted voices, expert analysis and compelling content available wherever and whenever fans want it.
"With the AFL and NRL Finals Series, the Spring Racing Carnival, the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Rugby League World Cup all on the horizon, we're entering one of the biggest periods on the sporting calendar and look forward to delivering audiences more premium coverage and content across every platform."
